This Closter, NJ home already had a lot going for it - beautiful brick and stone exterior, great landscaping, solid architecture. What it needed was railings that could keep up with all of that. That's where we came in.
We installed custom black aluminum horizontal railings across three areas of this home: the front porch, the stair section leading up to it, and the upper balcony. Getting the design to work cohesively across all three spaces was the real challenge here. The horizontal rail pattern had to feel intentional at every level, not just tacked on.
Aluminum was the right call for this job. It holds a powder-coated finish extremely well, it doesn't rust, and it handles everything New Jersey weather can throw at it without warping or corroding over time. For a home with this much curb appeal already built in, the last thing you want is railings that start looking rough after a few seasons.
The black finish ties everything together - it plays off the dark trim and roofline while contrasting cleanly against the brick and stone. That kind of detail matters. Railings that clash with the home's existing palette undercut the whole look. These don't. They feel like they were always supposed to be there.
Whether it's front porch railings, stair railings, or upper balcony work, getting the design right across multiple areas of a home takes planning. We do this kind of custom residential railing work throughout New Jersey, and jobs like this one are a good example of what's possible when the details are handled properly.
