This entryway had all the right bones - beautiful natural stone work, clean bluestone treads, a fresh paver walkway leading right up to the front door. What it was missing was a railing system that could match the quality of everything around it. That's where we came in.

We installed a full set of aluminum railings with a black powder-coated finish across the landing and down both sides of the staircase. The powder coat is key here. Unlike paint, it bonds directly to the metal through a heat-curing process, which means it won't chip, peel, or rust the way standard finishes do over time. For exterior railings exposed to rain, ice, and everything else the seasons throw at them, that matters a lot.

The vertical picket design keeps things classic without being fussy. It pairs well with the stone without competing with it. We also made sure the post placement and rail heights were dialed in - consistent spacing, level runs across the landing, and proper angled rails following the pitch of the stairs on each side. It sounds simple, but getting all of that right on a multi-section entry like this takes real attention to detail.

Beyond the look, these porch and entry railings give this home something it genuinely needed - a safe, solid handhold for anyone coming and going. Steps without railings are a liability, plain and simple. A setup like this checks both boxes: it looks sharp and it does its job.

Aluminum is one of our go-to materials for exterior railing work because it holds up, stays low-maintenance, and gives you a finished look that lasts. Whether it's front step railings, a full porch setup, or a stair railing flanking a longer run, the approach is always the same - clean, solid, and built to stay that way.
