A back entry without a railing is one of those things people put up with until they can't anymore. Slippery steps in the rain, older family members gripping the door frame, rental tenants asking about it every season. It's a small thing that adds up fast.
Here's what we were working with - a brick-and-stone back stoop with a few steps leading up to the rear door. The goal was a railing that feels solid, looks intentional, and handles real daily use. No flimsy hardware-store stuff. We welded and fitted a black steel railing system with vertical pickets and a flat top rail that follows the stair angle cleanly down to the landing.
We also ran a matching panel section along the raised platform edge next to the steps. That's the part most people skip, and it's the part that makes the whole install feel complete. Both sections anchor flush to the stone surface with base plates, keeping everything tight without eating into the surrounding pavers.
Whether it's a personal home or a rental property, a well-built residential railing does two things at once - it makes the entry safer, and it makes the property look like someone actually cares for it. We build each one to fit the specific space, not a one-size catalog guess. If your steps are missing a railing, or the one you have is wobbling, we can sort it out.
